1993, she, and two partners, founded a company in the marketing
industry called Starlight International and took it to $300 million in
sales in just 3 years.
The woman knows fashion, marketing, and
business.
In
April 2008,
a tornado hit her fulfillment warehouse in Colorado and destroyed what
she had built over the years. A short while later,
she found herself
in the unfortunate position of breaking both of her ankles and winding
up in a wheelchair while she was recovering. She wondered how
she
would re-build.
She
had
already branded her trademarked line through wholesaleing and had her
wares in high-end boutiques, stores from coast to
coast, resorts in
tropical locations, and other places around the world, so she
knew she
would continue doing what she loved. As a fighter, in the
face of
challenge, she forged on.
What
came from that determination was IGGLY BIGGLY.
A name that was born from coaching children throughout the years and
when wanting them to listen, she would utter silly words.
This stuck
and the concept of bringing her fashion industry sense, her
manufacturing knowledge, experience, and contacts, her marketing
experience, and her product to the people.
